The new shirts are in and looking good! We ordered 100 shirts (25 in each color), and have already sold nearly 30. We’re gonna have a link up here on the blog soon to buy them for $10. We’ve also been throwing these shirts out at gigs and giving them out to the winners of dance contests. Let me know if you want one!

The lifting of the chairs during the Hora!

We just finished up a wedding near Cleveland. It was the first Jewish wedding that we have ever done, so it was a great learning experience for us. This wedding was at Hale Farm and Village, a very cool historic location. Great Lakes Brewing Company had a really cool “Pint Size Farm” there, where they grow different ingredients that go in their beers. We couldn’t have had more fun! Congrats to Carly and James on a beautiful wedding!

Operation: Homecoming Overload

As much as I love DJ’ing weddings and being a part of the couple’s special day, school dances are what really gets me excited. There’s an incredible energizing atmosphere surrounding school dances. 300 students jumping up and down in sync, shouting out the words to their favorite songs… There’s something almost primal about it all.

Imagine my excitement as homecoming season was growing closer and the calls from schools started coming in… I can’t wait!

My excitement quickly turned to frustration for one reason: Every school seems to have their dances on the same two or three days. We were asked to DJ six different Homecomings this year… five of which were on the same date.

Hopefully Prom season will work it’s self out a little better!

Looking for more DJ’s!

Over the last couple of years, the number of bookings that I had to turn down due to already having a gig kept rising and rising. Instead of continuing to turn away potential clients, I decided to get a few more set ups. Problem solved! New problem: I had no one to man the set ups. Solution: find some of the coolest musical and tech savvy people I could, and train them to DJ. Problem solved! New problem: One of them, Mark Meginness, got a job at the White House. Yeah…THE White House (see picture). And the other, Bobby Blue, is pursuing a higher education, among other things (see college girls) at the University of Cincinnati.

We’re in the midst of training a couple of new DJ’s and MC’s to release into the wild when the time is right, but we’re always looking for more people to join the Ichor team. Sooooo… If you have a good grip on todays music, feel like you can work the mic well, or are tech savvy, then hit us up We’d love to get to know you and hopefully we can provide you with some work that’s a lot of fun, a great learning experience, and worth your time!
